Our Services
At Family Welfare International, our services are designed to meet real needs — supporting families, newcomers, youth, and community members with dignity, compassion, and practical help. We also prioritize building strong community connections, partnering with local organizations to empower individuals and ensure everyone feels valued and supported.
Community Centre Operations
At our Community Centre, we provide a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals, families, and neighbours from all backgrounds can come together to connect, learn, and grow. Through a range of programs — from social gatherings and support groups to educational workshops, recreation, wellness activities, newcomer integration, and mentoring — we strive to support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our community.
Our centre serves as a hub for building meaningful relationships, reducing isolation, and offering access to vital resources and opportunities for personal development. Whether someone is seeking companionship, support, new skills, or a sense of belonging, our doors are open, and our goal is to help every person find hope, community, and a pathway forward.
Employment Preparation and Training
Through our Employment Preparation & Training program, we offer more than just job-search help — we provide a complete pathway to meaningful employment and self-sufficiency. From one-on-one career counselling and personalized job-readiness planning, to resume and interview workshops, hands-on skills training, workplace-readiness coaching and job matching support, we walk beside each individual as they prepare, apply and step into work.
Our support is designed to meet people where they are — whether someone is re-entering the workforce, starting fresh, shifting careers, or facing barriers like language, experience or education gaps. We equip you with essential skills, confidence and resources so that you’re not just job-ready — you’re ready to build a sustainable career and contribute confidently to your community.
Support Services for Immigrants
Through our Immigrant Support Services, we guide newcomers at every step toward integration, stability, and belonging.
We offer settlement support that includes orientation to Canadian life, help accessing critical services (such as housing, health care, education, and employment) and personalized referrals to community resources.
Our team helps address language and communication barriers, connects participants to employment and training opportunities, and provides mentorship and community connections so newcomers feel seen and supported — not just as clients, but as valued members of a wider community.
In every interaction, we aim to turn relocation challenges into opportunities for growth, dignity, and hope.
Education & Literacy Programs
Through our Education & Literacy Programs, we offer inclusive, accessible learning opportunities for children, youth, adults, and families — from basic reading and writing to digital literacy, arithmetic, and life skills. By creating supportive, learner-centred classes and workshops, we help individuals build confidence, unlock new personal and professional opportunities, and improve their day-to-day lives.
Whether someone is seeking to complete a school equivalency, support their children’s learning, adapt to a new cultural environment, or gain the foundational skills needed for job-readiness, our programs meet learners where they are. We believe that education is not just about knowledge, but about empowerment, belonging, and transformation. Through every lesson, we aim to open doors to brighter futures, stronger communities, and lifelong learning.
